QKD Makes Strong Connections at Shanghai Auto Parts Expo, Showcasing Next-Gen Automotive Taping Solutions
December 4, 2025

SHANGHAI, ChinaThe atmosphere at Hall 4 of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre was electric last week, and so was the QKD booth. From November 26th, our team, led by Business Director Jing and accompanied by General Manager Yang, engaged with a steady stream of engineers, procurement managers, and industry experts. We didn't just bring brochures; we brought an entire mobile testing station, complete with samples of our core automotive tape products.

"Feel this," Jing said to a visitor from a major electric vehicle manufacturer, handing him a piece of our high-temperature resistant masking paper. "We developed this specifically for battery pack painting processes where temperatures can spike. Traditional paper would brittle and leave residue." The visitor, after a close inspection, nodded appreciatively and immediately connected Jing with his sourcing team via WeChat.

Exhibition Customer Communication

This hands-on demonstration was our theme for the show. Alongside the masking materials, our butyl rubber sealing and damping tape drew significant attention. General Manager Yang spent nearly an hour with a group from a European suspension component supplier, discussing how our tape's consistent thickness and cold-weather flexibility solve common NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) challenges. "Your sample held up perfectly in our freeze-test simulation," one of their engineers remarked, leading to a scheduled factory audit next month.

The booth wasn't just for customer meetings. On the second afternoon, Jing invited representatives from two other adhesive specialistsone from Japan and one from Germanyfor an informal coffee chat. The discussion moved beyond sales to shared challenges in raw material sustainability and new testing standards for autonomous vehicle wiring harnesses. "We compete, but we also learn from each other. It's how the industry moves forward," Jing noted later.

By the close of the exhibition, our team had collected over 180 solid leads, with particular interest in our flame-retardant wire harness tapes for new energy vehicles and our acrylic foam tapes for exterior trim bonding. Many visitors were surprised to learn that QKD controls the entire production chain, from polymer synthesis to precision coating, in our 15,000facility.

"Trade shows are about more than just products," said General Manager Yang. "They're about proving our expertise face-to-face. Seeing a customer's eyes light up when a material performs exactly as promisedthat's the real value. Shanghai confirmed that our focus on performance-driven solutions is on the right track."
